Something splendid happens to me whenever I listen to Raag Lalit Bhatiyar sung by Bhimsen Joshi. I got to know that this raag is one of his creations. No wonder that he has rendered it so, so, so beautifully. Lalit-Bhatiyar is a combination of 2 raags- Lalit and Bhatiyar- both are morning raagas. When I listen to this raag, I feel this aura of early morning and spirituality. Bhimsen Joshi renders "O kartar" in Lalit Bhatiyar very very soulfully. His taans simply astound you. He proves that he is one of the greatest musicians that Hindusthani classical music has ever seen.

:-) Sometimes if the music is very soothing, one tends to fall asleep. It is like a lullaby. So don't get disheartened. Maybe u fell asleep because u enjoyed it so much.:-)

I agree, O Kartar in Lalit Bhatiyaar is beautiful composition...it is my favorite as far as Pt Bhinsen Joshi's work is concerned...absolutely pristine...
